Associate Program Director – Classification and Coding

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and state-wide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.

Eastern Health is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Health Information Manager with extensive coding experience to strategically lead and manage the classification and coding team. Innovative thinking will be needed to achieve excellence in service delivery and workforce management. This role will influence the strategic direction of the Program and through collaboration, help drive quality and consistent service delivery.  Travel across hubs will be required.

About you 
To be successful in this role you will possess:

• A minimum of 12 months’ experience as a coding manager or other senior coding role
• A Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent tertiary qualification
• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the National Funding Model, NWAU, AR-DRG’s, ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS and Victorian Policy and Funding guidelines
• Demonstrate leadership within a Classification and Coding team
• A track record of collaborating with other Health Information Managers, senior management and internal and external stakeholders
