    An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Coder to join our growing Health Information Services team.

    The Mount Private Hospital is a leader in the provision of private hospital services in Western Australia. It has one of the only Level 3 ICUs in Western Australia. It is located at the base of Kings Park on Mounts Bay Road, Perth and provides access to the State’s leading surgeons and hospital equipment.     As a Clinical Coder your responsibilities will include:

    • Providing accurate, quality clinical coding
    • Assisting with billing and health fund queries
    • Assisting with coding / health fund audits
    • Provision of timely and accurate clinical coding data using ICD-10-AM (12th Edition)
    • Participating in performance improvement activities

    Essential requirements:

    • Bachelor of HIM or the completion of HIMAA Intermediate/Advanced ICD-10-AM coding course
    • Up-to-date knowledge, experience and practice using ICD-10-AM (12th edition)
    • Ability to work in a small team environment
    • Minimum of 2 years clinical coding experience
    • Experience in a variety of casemix - cardiology, cardiothoracics and orthopaedics would be highly regarded

    Desirable Requirements:

    • Experience with the webPAS patient information system
    • Experience using 3M Codefinder
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite e.g. Excel
    • Coding experience in a Private Health Care setting
    • Knowledge of private health fund contracts
