This is a new role within the Northern Health - Health Information Services (HIS) Program that provides a fantastic opportunity to lead the success of and ensure the delivery of high quality health information management across the Mental Health Services of Northern Health.
As part of the senior leadership team and reporting directly to the Associate Director Health Information Services - Records Management, the HIS Manager Mental Health is responsible for the effective leadership of Mental Health HIMs (5 EFT) within the Mental Health Division (Northern Area Mental Health Service-NAMHS, North West Area Mental Health Services-NWAMHS & Aged Persons Mental Health Services-APMH) of Northern Health. This role will also work closely with the Operations Directors of both NAMHS & NWAMHS.
As well as providing guidance and leadership in the collaborative approach to collection, use, evaluation and management of health information across Mental Health, the HIS Manager Mental Health is a key resource and contact person (internal and external) in relation to process development and adherence. Managing and leading projects undertaken by the Mental Health Division and Health Information Services team. This includes matters relating to new legislation, Government directions, system changes and business improvement processes.
The appointee will be expected to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with strategic partners and represent NH in appropriate forums.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in a senior Health Information Management role in mental health services within a medium to large complex health service.
- Experience in mental health services evaluation, statistical analysis and database management
- Thorough understanding of the Mental Health Act and other legislation relating to health information management
- Understanding of mental health specific databases
- Staff management experience within a medium to large complex health service.
