ABOUT THE ROLE:
Mercy Health is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Health Information Manager to lead our Information Access Team. With a strong knowledge and understanding of Freedom of Information and Release of Information practices and policies.
You will also be required to provide support and education to all staff on privacy related matters and assist with any privacy breaches.
As the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Health Information Services quality plan and KPI's are completed and up to date.
- Located at Werribee Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women
- Full time permanent role
- Manage and provide leadership to the Information Release Team
- Provide support to the Privacy Officer
- Ensure the Health Information Services quality plan is actively managed
- Coordinate and manage the Health Information Management student placements with La Trobe University
ABOUT YOU:
- Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Health Information Management or equivalent
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of FOI (Freedom of Information), ROI (Release of Information) and Privacy Legislation
- Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement principles and accreditation
- Ability to liaise with all levels of clinical and non-clinical staff in relation to Health Information Services
- High level of integrity, professionalism and developed leadership skills
- Demonstrated understanding of mandatory reporting processes, medical record management and related standards and legislation
- Enthusiastic, motivated and a team player
