    About the opportunity

    Mercy Hospital for Women has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Health Information Manager or experienced Clinical Coder with a passion for coding to join our Health Information Service team

    ● The primary purpose purpose of this position is to support the accurate and timely completion of coding for Mercy Health. Ensuring coding and casemix data is accurate and the correct coding principles are applied.
    ● Additionally you will participate in auditing of inpatient episodes.
    ● You may also partake in a health information management portfolio which may include, statutory reporting (VAED/VINAH/VEMD/VCR), forms design or quality activities to support quality service provision.

    You will have comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-AM coding and casemix and excellent computer literacy and the ability to learn in-house systems.

    You will have Health Information Management or recognised clinical coding qualifications

    To thrive in this role, you will have:
    ● Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
    ● Experience in the coding of Gynaecology, Urogynaecology, Obstetrics and Neonates
    You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
    ● A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
    ● Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
