    Position Title:                 Manager – Health Information Services

    Location:                        Cairns

    Remuneration:             Fixed Term Temporary Full Time until 30 June 2025
    $5062.30 - $5432.80 per fortnight

    This position is directly responsible for leading and managing a team of approx. 42 Full Time Equivalent and an annual budget of $5.8M to ensure an effective and efficient health information service, including clinical records management, clinical records and forms design and data quality management in such a manner that service goals and objectives are achieved.
    These services are critical to ensuring patient safety through the provision of a high-quality clinical record. The Health Information Manager, Health Information Services plays a key role in the eHealth agenda and the transformation of paper clinical records to a digital healthcare service and as the Data Custodian is responsible for enabling changes to the electronic medical record from an operational perspective.

    • Direct and manage the administrative staff for all Medical Records Departments within the CHHHS involved in clinical records management for client directory and duplicate processes, to ensure adherence to legislative and policy obligations while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
    • Direct and manage the centralised scanning unit, reporting and ongoing quality assurance processes to ensure a timely and quality Integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR).
    • As the data custodian for CHHHS, manage data requests relating to patient information for research and auditing activities including preparation of quotes and compliance with legislation while liaising closely with Research Governance Office and according to the Ethics approval processes.
    • Evaluate health information systems and standards, drive the planning and implementation of health information and related information systems and review future technology associated with health information to ensure standards are adhered to and data integrity is preserved.
